Sylvia has been in the entertainment industry for over 50 years, starting in her native country as a performer, then teaching and working in front of and behind the camera in  England, Germany, Puerto Rico and in  the USA since 1995.

She studied music theory at the Trinity College Dublin.

She has taught TV/Film classes for students of all ages since 1996. She is a guest speaker often in various parts of the country regarding the film industry.

She also worked as a costume designer and on set costumer for TV Shows and Films for over 10 years.

In 2006 She founded Hutson Talent Agency Inc. She represents actors all over the US and in the UK, working in both countries, recently started working with Pinewood studios in London

She absolutely loves being on stage performing, some personal stage credits include:

Creating the role of Spiker in the East Coast Premiere of James and the Giant Peach,  Carousel (Mrs Mullin),  Freaky Friday (Ms Luckenbill), Hairspray (Penny’s Mom/Matron/Gym Teacher) ,  Cabaret (Frau Schneider) , Dancing at Lughnasa (Maggie), Hamlet (Gertrude), For Colored Girls (Lady in Purple), Into the Woods (Narrator) , Meet me in St Louis (Katie)

With Virginia Opera she performed in numerous operas, her favorites being: The Merry Widow (Sylviane) Carmen (Cigarette Factory madam),   Being a cover and performing for schools with the educational opera department, A Midsummer Night’s Dream with James Avery and Daphne Reid (Singer), Evening of Broadway with Michael Crawford (Singer),

 Film Credits include: Stephen King’s The Road Virus heads north, Black Widows, One More Day, and numerous commercial and industrial credits

 

She recently had the honor of being interviewed on a Hollywood Mixknowledgy panel with Carlos Villalobos (Empire, Star) Angela Kang (The Walking Dead), Alan Wenkus (Straight Outta Compton) and Markus Bensc (Captain America, The Hunger Games), it was wonderful to share the stage with them and get to know them personally.
